Timber Processing & Energy Expo (TP&EE) will officially present the Timber Processing 2024 Person of the Year Award to Andy Pollard of Pollard Lumber on Wednesday afternoon, September 25, which is the first day of the event to be held at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore.
The January issue of Timber Processing published an article on Pollard as the recipient of the award, noting his numerous innovations and patents in sawmilling technology, including the curve-sawing gang and continuous dry kiln.
Everyone is invited to the presentation ceremony on the show floor.
One-hundred-seventy exhibitors have signed up for the event to be held September 25-27. They’ll showcase their technologies and supplies to lumbermen on 45,000 square feet of booth space.
Attendee registration opens July 15. Admission is free to anybody who registers prior to the beginning of the show.
In addition to the Person of the Year presentation, TP&EE will once again feature its massive Beer Garden, and the Sawmill Productivity & Efficiency Conference, details of which will be released in June.
TP&EE continues it Preferred Partners program, which is an alliance with several industry groups to support promotions and attendance.
The event is produced by Hatton-Brown Expositions and hosted by Timber Processing magazine.

It’s time to move on to the next major sawmill machinery show: the Timber Processing & Energy Expo (TP&EE) to be held September 25-27, 2024 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore.
Our affiliate, Hatton-Brown Expositions, produces the event, while Timber Processing serves as the primary media host. If you’ll recall the 2022 version of TP&EE, more than 110 wood producer companies, representing several hundred mill operations, sent their personnel; in fact, more than 1,200 (non-exhibitor) attendees from 35 states and 15 countries registered for the event. They combed the aisles of 170 exhibitor companies, who were represented by more than 900 exhibitor personnel.
The 2024 TP&EE will be the sixth one that we have produced, starting in 2012, and keeping in mind we had to skip 2020 due to the pandemic. We started it in 2012 frankly at the request of many exhibitor companies who felt that the previous long-running Portland show had veered off track and its downtown location was too congested. That’s why we moved it out of downtown and to the Portland Expo Center.
Given all of the negative developments in downtown Portland in the past couple of years, it’s probably a good thing we did. It’s no secret that homeless people are an “issue” in Portland, and they were visible in small numbers near my hotel during the last show. But from the Expo Center itself, I saw nary a homeless person. Then again, I can look from our parking lot here in Montgomery, Ala. and see three homeless people right now asking for money on the interstate ramp. It’s a bigger problem than Portland’s alone.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://timberprocessingandenergyexpo.com/tpeepress/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/TPEE22_01_5861.jpg” title_text=”TPEE22_01_5861″ _builder_version=”4.19.5″ _module_preset=”default” max_width=”86%” module_alignment=”left” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.5″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”||||||||” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”1.8em” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]The issue with the Portland show, going way back, is that the city has a liberal mindset and our show has a conservative one. I remember years ago when the environmentalists shut down the interstate leading into downtown. I remember when environmentalists picketed outside the old Portland show. I also remember years ago when downtown Portland was flooded with tramps.
Obviously, we still believe there’s a need for a sawmill show in the Northwest. We’ve looked at some other sites as suggested by a few people, but either they weren’t large enough, the move-in logistics were too cramped, or their location was too far off the beaten path.
So we’ve stayed in Portland. The reason the Portland show has always been in Portland is because it’s the most reasonable location to be accessed by the region’s sawmillers. That hasn’t changed.
What has changed of course is the downsizing of the Northwest sawmill industry. I always chuckle when somebody at the show is surprised that there aren’t as many people at the show as there used to be. I always reply well there’s 80% less sawmill industry than there used to be, thanks to the northern spotted owl and other environmental encroachments.
But the industry is still significant in the Northwest. Most recently Canfor announced it is building a new sawmill in British Columbia. Earlier this year Sierra Pacific Industries announced it is building the largest sawmill production operation in the U.S. (if not the world) at Eugene (about two hours south of Portland), replacing its existing sawmilling facilities there. And Oregon-based Roseburg announced a massive investment program for several of its panel facilities in Oregon—not sawmills, but significant nonetheless.

It is with great disappointment, but mixed with the satisfaction in knowing that it’s the right thing to do, Hatton-Brown Expositions, LLC announces the cancellation of the Timber Processing & Energy Expo scheduled September 30 to October 2 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon. The next TP&EE, which is held every other year, will be held as scheduled on September 28-30, 2022.
This past May, with regard to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the Oregon Governor announced the state’s three-phase opening plan. TP&EE falls under “Phase 3: Highest Risk Activities” which states, “Large gatherings and events are not possible until a reliable treatment or prevention is available. As a result, these are cancelled or significantly modified through at least September.” The Portland area is now only entering Phase 1.

Really Big Show
“I did spend a bit of time there for the first time in several years and was impressed with the quality/quantity of vendors and new ideas. We are always interested in grade scanning, process control and general optimization developments. I look forward to the next show.”
—Northwest lumberman“I found the show very worthwhile and was surprised with how well attended it was. The opportunity for face-to-face contact with the network of people I interact with in the industry is invaluable.”—Southeast lumberman
About 1,600 industry (non-exhibitor) personnel, representing 110 forest products producer companies and hundreds of individual mill site operations, attended the third Timber Processing & Energy Expo held September 28-30 at the Portland Exposition Center.
The event, produced by Hatton-Brown Expositions, LLC—an affiliate of Hatton-Brown Publishers, Inc., Timber Processing and Panel World magazines—caters to primary producers of lumber, veneer-plywood and engineered wood products.
“Attendance from the mills was up about 10% from 2014, which we thought was solid considering the number of mill closures and consolidations in the Northwest during the past two years,” comments Show Director Rich Donnell.
About 1,100 exhibitor personnel were also in attendance. (Total registration was 3,000—1,800 non-exhibitors and 1,200 exhibitors, but as is typical about 10% of free pre-registration were no-shows.)
Attendees from 39 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces, and 20 countries besides the U.S. and Canada came to view 225 exhibiting companies on 60,000 sq. ft. of booth space.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy having more room to work with,” says Donnell, referring to the event’s move into Hall E on the expo grounds from its previous location next door in Hall D. “Hall E is a third larger than Hall D was, and this allowed us to put in a large Beer Garden for people to sit down and relax in, and overall just more space to move around in between the exhibits.”
The technology was everywhere and more big machinery was showcased than in previous events. It also included for the first time German and Italian pavilions featuring exhibitors from those countries.
“We are currently working on Capex for next year,” comments Chuck Morgan, general manager at SYP producer Suwannee Lumber in Florida. “I was looking for equipment in the sawmill and planer mill—graders, gang, profiler, infeed etc., really for informational and budgetary purposes. The show was nice and informational. It is good to see many of the industry suppliers in one location and offers much more opportunity for exposure to other products or ‘brands’ than we currently use.”
Former Timber Processing Man of the Year, Jim Quinn, now Chairman of the Board and acting CEO of White Mountain Apache Timber Co. in Arizona, was making the rounds.
“The White Mountain Apache Timber Company is pretty far behind on technology and basically we need to replace our small log mill and include mechanical sorting on the next one. We also need a sorter for the Stetson Ross planer and we may want to do some mechanization in the log yard,” Quinn says.
Quinn notes that the Tribe has more than 700,000 acres of very nice ponderosa pine. They currently operate a double cut headrig and a single cut headrig in the large log mill, and an aging double length infeed system in the small log mill. The mill operates two planer lines.
Many forest products companies and mills encouraged mill management and operators to attend TP&EE. Weyerhaeuser had 98 in attendance; Sierra-Pacific Industries, 66; Hampton, 46. Stimson Lumber, Alta Forest Products, Seneca, Idaho Forest Group, Roseburg and several other companies also sent large contingents.
Mike Pederson, president and CEO of Alta Forest Products, which operates several sawmills in the Northwest, said they attended for two reasons. One was to meet with an exhibitor to review the latest upgrades in automated planer grading. “But the main reason, and the reason for so many of our people there, is that I like to get our people away from the plant to see what is new and innovative within our industry. The show in Portland is a great venue for that,” Pederson says.
“Attendance from the Northwest U.S. and Western Canada was strong as we expected,” Donnell comments. “But I was pleased by so many representatives from mills in the Southeast and up into Maine.”
Most exhibitors found that most attendees were upbeat and had investments in mind. Several machines had “sold” signs on them, such as a Gilbert planer going to Seneca Sawmill, a Samuel packaging system to Sierra-Pacific and a Corley carriage to Canfor-Beadles.
“The level of optimism was striking,” comments Joey Nelson, president of JoeScan. “It has taken a long time for the industry to recover. Now that mills are on stronger footing, there are a lot of opportunities to make solid investments in improving the productivity and efficiency of their operations.”
JoeScan introduced a six-laser, high-density carriage scanner, the JS-25 X6B.
“The show was great. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of attendees and exhibitors,” comments Jesse Vigil, president and CEO of Metal Detectors Inc. “The Portland Expo Center is a perfect venue, and the show floor was very spacious. We really liked the wide aisles and spacing of the booths.”
MDI emphasized its TWA-2000-HD system that is used for scanning whole logs and received a lot of interest in this system from customers and distributors, as well as positive feedback from customers who are already running it in their sawmills.
“We had solid leads from decision makers in attendance,” Vigil adds. “We drew customers from many parts of the U.S. as well as Canada. Everyone seemed very upbeat and optimistic with the amount of building that is currently going on. Lumber suppliers need quality equipment in order to meet market demand. There seems to be a positive outlook throughout the industry.”
Spriinger Microtec CTO Norvin Laudon says the event confirmed what he had thought going into it. “Two years ago we were relative newcomers and unknown, and this year pretty much everyone who came knew who we are and what we do.”
Microtec set up its Goldeneye 900 multisensor board scanner and Springer screw feeder as well as a miniature of the E-Cut board trimmer.
“Despite the looming softwood lumber agreement uncertainty, I got the impression the market is strong and the customers were making investments,” Laudon adds. “There were many customers who came to the booth, and some will develop into solid projects.”
USNR attracted considerable attention with its large booth that featured four vertically standing pieces of cross-laminated timber, each with one of the U-S-N-R letters sawn out. The company also emphasized its all-electric lumber handling equipment, displaying the ElectraTong Lug Loader and the Multi-Track Fence, of which more than 100 have sold since its inception several years ago.
A CamShift 600 Cambio debarker, new to the North American market, was also on display. The system combines debarking and flare reducing in a single, modular machine.
“A major benefit of the CamShift is a significant reduction in the consumption of oil and air,” comments Sonia Perrine, senior marketing associate. “Setup and tool changes are a breeze with its modular, pull-out design. Variations accommodate minimum log length and top or butt-end feeding.”
Perrine felt they definitely had some good potential customers, as well as existing ones, visit the booth. “The election has people on a merry-go-round that has put a few buying decisions on hold. It is clear that the industry is interested in doing things if the politics are favorable.”
USNR also hosted a popular tent eatery in front of the expo hall.
Andritz showed its new powerheads (solid canter heads for primary and secondary canters) and its new Drum Style Chip-N-Saw heads for four-sided canters and profiler machines, as well as its new Turnknife System 4 for sawmill chippers.
“This is the same knife system we have been installing in whole log chippers the past several years and we are now applying this technology and knowledge to sawmill chippers,” comments Bill Beck, North American sawmill manager. “We are seeing outstanding performance of this knife system on sawmill chippers all over North America.”
Beck says they had several very good conversations with potential new customers. “Everyone is doing good right now. The Canadians are worried about the SLA expiring and what is going to happen to tariffs, duties, quotas, etc., but they operated for years under an agreement and prospered. Mills in the U.S. are marching forward with upgrades.”
BID Group and its range of companies presented three new products, including the Miller planer, McGehee profiling machine and the new generation of GradExpert.
“For us it is very important to show new products as it reflects our continuous work to improve actual products and offer new products to the market,” comments Anne-Marie Levesque, marketing manager. “Our executive team stays focused on innovation and research & development.”
Levesque says there was very high-quality people in attendance and many of those people were looking for short- and mid-term investments, upgrading their mill and operations to keep up the pace with the market.
“The feeling of this show was great,” Levesque adds. “We feel the industry is alive and is looking forward for the good years of business to come.”
During the show BID Group organized tours of the SDS Lumber planer mill at Bingen, Wash. This is a new turnkey installation that started up two months ago. “We brought about 50 customers there, so that confirms that people are looking for serious investment and wanted to check on this first-hand.”
One of BID Group’s newer members, Ron McGehee, also spoke during the Lumber Manufacturing Workshop held on the second day of the show.
McGehee’s talk on The Latest Profiling Technologies was one of 17 presentations during the Lumber Manufacturing Workshop, which had simultaneous sessions going on in adjacent rooms. Two-hundred people attended the workshops, bouncing from one room to the other, though most of them gathered for McGehee’s presentation.
McGehee noted early in his talk that the objective of his profiling system is to improve productivity and recovery and reduce manufacturing costs. He pointed to a reduction of costs of $25/MBF in recent projects, an increase in production up to 25% and an increase in recovery of up to 3% in some mills.
He said the installation of the profiler means production is not limited by the edger anymore (up to 60% less boards going to the edger); most of the products from the gang are finished, and there’s less downtime.
Profiling on a solid piece of wood like a cant at slower speed (600 FPM max) showed with time that edging accuracy is better than an edger going at 1200 FPM, McGehee stated. A typical payback on the profiler in a 150MMBF mill is just under eight months, he added.
McGehee said there are two typical arrangements: as a standard profiler, for gangs fed by belt conveyor by centering chain systems; and as an infeed profiler, for gangs fed by a centering chain system and where space is limited, with the unit replacing the existing curve-saw infeed module.
The profiler includes disc chipping heads for the surface finish, independent profiling heads with infinite positioning, and skew and slew movement.
Yvan Rainville, vice-president sales and marketing for Autolog, addressed the company’s new modular scanner frame and also split & shake detection at the trimmer optimizer, using 3D identification.
He cited a case study at Tolko Lakeview on a 20 ft. trimmer optimizer with a “conservative payback of salvaged volume of approximately $168,000/year,” and additional savings of $6,000 in drying costs, as well as increased performance at the planer, reduced blockage in downstream sorter and stacker, and improved sorting of high grade products at the sawmill.
He also addressed Autolog’s unsound wood detection system, pointing to positive results at Forex on a 16 ft. trimmer optimizer with annual savings of $108,000 for a production of about 100MMBF. Benefits included reduced handling inside and outside the sawmill and increased chip quality, with savings of approximately $6,000 per year due to staying within chip value norm, $36,000 a year due to increased kiln capacity and decreased handling, and $66,000 annually due to increased planer capacity and decreased handling.
Michel Loyet, CEO of Finega Group of France, presented the company’s new MasterTwin 3D end dogging log breakdown system. Prior to the cutting line, each log is scanned by a 360° rotary scanner which scans the full shape of the log during the cutting sequence of the previous log. An optimizer calculates the best sawing axis and cutting pattern in the 3D space based on mill production and value parameters.
Ellen Nelson, chief financial officer of Lucidyne, and Ryan Shear, lead optimization engineer, spoke on their GradeScan planer mill grader and said customers start seeing ROI in less than eight months while improving the consistency and overall quality of lumber.
They noted that its compact lineal design means that most mills make very few changes to their existing line, and installs in just two weekends with little or no downtime. They also addressed the GradeScan True-Q lumber tracking system, and warp detection.
They emphasized the GradeScan’s tracheid sensor and T3 sensor. “If you can’t see knots behind blue stain, you don’t have a Lucidyne GradeScan,” Nelson said.
With regard to the system optimization, Nelson said, “Here’s a great story: The sales manager at one of our customers’ locations came into the mill and said that he had customer demand for a niche product. He asked how long it would take for the mill to start making it. Without a moment’s hesitation, the mill manager said, ‘Come back after lunch.’ That’s flexibility.”
TP&EE Event Promotes New Products, Technology And Markets For Panel Producers
Organizer efforts to bring more of the structural veneer and plywood industry and engineered wood products segment into the Timber Processing & Energy Expo appear to have worked, as numerous producers converged on the Portland Expo Center September 28-30.
The Portland event traditionally has been tilted to lumber manufacturing technologies, but event producer Hatton-Brown Expositions, affiliate of Panel World magazine, has emphasized the importance of “putting panel” on the show floor as well as lumber. This was the third TP&EE, which is held every other year.
Indeed wood products producers sent ownership, management, supervisory and skilled personnel to the event, where 225 exhibitor companies, including the leading equipment and technology manufacturers in the veneer-plywood and EWP industries, showcased products and technologies.
Some of the veneer-plywood and EWP producer companies in attendance included: ATCO Wood Products, Bessemer Plywood, Boise Cascade, Browder Veneer Works, Coastland Wood Industries, Columbia Forest Products, D.R. Johnson, Freres Lumber, Georgia-Pacific, Hardel Mutual Plywood, Hunt Forest Products, Louisiana-Pacific, Murphy Company, Nordic Veneer, Pacific Veneer, Potlatch, Rainier Veneer, RedBuilt, Roseburg Forest Products, Savona Specialty Plywood, Swanson Group, Timber Products Company, Tolko Industries and Weyerhaeuser.
TP&EE registered nearly 1,800 industry (non-exhibitor) personnel, as well as 1,200 exhibitor personnel. Attendees came from 39 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces, and 20 countries besides the U.S. and Canada.
The event included a day of manufacturing workshops for both panel and lumber producers, and one of the most well-attended sessions was on cross-laminated timber (CLT) and its potential as a new forest product and market segment.
D.R. Johnson Lumber Co. President Valerie Johnson told how her company had gone from being a bit interested in CLT and making some panels to assist Oregon State in research to building its own production line and becoming the first North American CLT manufacturer certified under APA’s structural CLT standards.
Johnson gauged the overall CLT outlook in North America, noting that her company is already scheduled to contribute to five projects in 2017.
Early construction reports show that using pre-fab CLT panels reduces waste and also features less installation noise in a much shorter construction time, Johnson said. The CLT pioneer is also in talks with government and military builders and designers and also corporate interests, Johnson added, saying the product is ideal for motel chains.
“We see CLT as a completely new market,” Johnson said, adding that solid wall and floor construction uses much more wood than traditional wood frame building systems.
Along with other speakers, Johnson said it was important for CLT to develop performance and product standards that enable the product to be plugged into existing building codes, and that Los Angeles is in the process of allowing CLT under its building codes.
Several presenters noted that Europe has a lack of integrated building codes and standards. That means CLT utilization there consists almost solely of custom projects using proprietary grades.
Promoting its new CLT press and the product itself, the USNR booth included four large CLT panels spelling out the company logo as USNR also promoted its new veneer lathe and drying technology.
USNR Senior Marketing Associate Sonia Perrine noted that the company’s new window-frame style CLT press drew lots of attention at the show, as did USNR’s new all-electric design carriage feed works that use a planetary screw actuator. Conversions for electric actuated knife pitch control, electric actuated vertical roller bar height control, and electric actuated horizontal roller bar gap control are also ready to be implemented, she said.
Perrine added that USNR had a good show talking to both new and existing customers. “It is not always the volume of customers but the type of customer that you meet with at a trade show,” she said. “We had the opportunity to have conversations with several senior managers and some serious technology shoppers planning for the near future.”
USNR is optimistic about business conditions for 2017, Perrine said. “We’re relatively certain the show bolstered the confidence of some who will be making decisions later this fall or early next year. Some customers expressed apprehension until after the elections, but the overall mood was cautious optimism.”
Melinda Lilley, Member Services Director for the Engineered Wood Technology Assn. (EWTA), noted that there were about 30 EWTA members exhibiting at the show, plus she had the chance to discover new members. “We’re always looking for new associate members,” she said. “And with all the new products and new technology, this has definitely been an upbeat show.”
Mike Crondahl, President of Westmill Industries, said TP&EE, especially the show’s second day, was “Absolutely busy—it was hopping so much we didn’t have time for lunch.”
Crondahl said the company is coming off a record sales year in 2015, and one thing he noted at TP&EE is that “People are really seeking us out about our innovations.” Adding that he’s been coming to equipment shows in Portland since he was a kid, Crondahl said TP&EE fills a real need for an event of its type on the West Coast.
Noting a good bit of interest in used and reconditioned equipment, Mike Simmons, Vice President of Sales & Service for Kimwood, said the show’s second day was a busy one. “It looks like there are a few people buying. The parts business has been good for us.”
Interest in industry’s newest plywood mill startup at Swanson Group in Springfield, Ore., along with a good response to her presentation on advances in Meinan green end technology, drove a lot of traffic to the Meinan-Merritt Machinery booth, said Merritt Machinery President Anna McCann.
Part of the booth display included an eight-minute video of the Springfield operations, which are currently in startup. The project features Meinan’s fully automated green end that includes charger with 3D vision scanning and optimization, constant peel speed, auto knife changer, full sheet stacking by MC and auto random veneer clipping with in-line green veneer composing.
“We’ve been very happy with the show,” McCann said. “There’s a lot of interest in the Swanson line, and we’ve had some very high level contacts who are interested in Meinan’s product line.”
Gustavo Mostiack, Commercial Director of Fezer SA Industrias Mecanicas, said his company was focusing on promoting its slicing and splicing product lines. “This is our first time exhibiting here, and the results are in line with our expectations,” he said.
“The show has been good for us. We made some good contacts,” Mostiack added.
With a leading edge technology gasification plant project at Lockheed Martin’s Owego, NY plant now up and running, Biomass Engineering & Equipment President Dane Floyd was promoting his company’s involvement in the project, which will use plant waste as raw material.
“This has been a great show for us,” Floyd said on TP&EE’s final day. “The number of leads we’ve gotten here is phenomenal, and we’ve had a lot of good quality booth visitors.”
Dave Larecy, President of Con-Vey, noted that his company had also met lots of high-quality vistors, and there’s been plenty of interest in a new panel repair line Con-Vey has going in at the new Swanson plant in Springfield.
“We’ve been very pleased with the outcome of the show, and we’ll definitely be here again in two years,” Larecy said.
“We’ve had a really busy show,” said Raute NA Senior Vice President Martin Murphy. During a private event near the TP&EE show site, Raute unveiled its G5 advanced mill operations analysis software.
The new system combines the power of high-tech cameras and innovative systems to analyze the entire production process. Analyzers collect data in every process, from the green end onward, and evaluate the information to automatically affect production decisions. G5’s state-of-the-art analyzers collect data on defects, moisture and density and automatically establish the best results based on pre-determined customer goals. Information from a combination of analyzers is amalgamated in real time to determine the best value for the veneer.
“G5 technology has the ability to affect every aspect of mill production positively, with up to 15% in better raw material utilization,” said Murphy, who added that Raute’s private events were “very well attended by key decision makers.”

TP&EE Announces First Round Of Presentations For Lumber Manufacturing Workshop
Lumber manufacturing machinery legend Ron McGehee will deliver one of the technical presentations as part of the Lumber Manufacturing Workshop scheduled for Thursday, September 29, during the Timber Processing & Energy Expo. TP&EE will be held September 28-30 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore.
Timber Processing magazine will host the workshop the second day of the expo. Presentation proposals continue to filter in.
TP&EE is produced by Hatton-Brown Expositions, LLC, an affiliate of Hatton-Brown Publishers, Inc., which publishes Timber Processing magazine and is affiliated with Panel World magazine. This will be the third TP&EE.
McGehee is best known as a pioneer in the development of curve-sawing gangs, as his McGehee curve-sawing gang immediately dotted the lumber manufacturing landscape when it came out in the mid to late 1990s. He also produced an innovative saw lubrication system. He has been awarded more than two dozen patents for sawmill equipment inventions.
Most recently McGehee’s WaneShear Technologies sold to Bid Group, to become one of several machine company operations under Bid Group, including Comact.
WaneShear Technologies had recently introduced a profiling system, and McGehee will address “The Latest Profiling Technologies” and how they provide relief to the downstream edger and improve sawing operations overall.
Other subjects and their presenters in 10 Talks include:
— Use Scanning to Turn Your Edger into a Lean, Mean, Money-Making Machine, Joey Nelson, President, JoeScan
— Automatic Log Scaling and Processing, Norvin Laudon, CFO, Springer Microtec
— GradeScan-Built for the Future, Ellen Nelson, CFO, and Ryan Shear, Software Engineer, Lucidyne Technologies

Show Director Rich Donnell, who is also editor-in-chief of Hatton-Brown Publishers, comments, “Instead of focusing on only one area of a sawmill operation, we thought we’d mix it up a little bit this year. So many companies send several supervisory and technical personnel and it would be great if each of them could participate in the sessions.”
The cost of the Lumber Manufacturing Workshop is only $75 and includes an exhibit floor pass for the entire length of the event, as well as a beer and a brat ticket for the Beer Garden.
TP&EE will feature 190 equipment and technology exhibitors and 60,000 square feet of exhibit space. The event caters to primary producers of lumber, plywood and engineered wood products.
